JULIE OCKERBY

With more than 15 years’ experience, Julie has worked with some of the most innovative designers and hoteliers from around the world and has translated this experience into Aged Care and the Retirement Living industry.

Combining her background as a Registered Nurse together with her experience in the boutique hotel industry, Julie’s approach is unique. She has transformed the Aged Care Living industry for the better by pushing the boundaries and is determined to achieve better outcomes for our ageing population. Julie’s purpose is to reinvigorate Aged Care Living.

Approaching this need for change from a social, philosophical and cultural aspect, Julie has become a highly regarded leader in the industry, where she is recognised as a change agent.

Recipient of the 2019 IBA Gold Stevie Award for “Entrepreneur of the Year – Business & Professional Service”, and the Silver Stevie Award for “Woman of the Year”. Also to the mantle, the Women in Business Gold Stevie Award for ‘Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Australia, NZ, & Asia 2018’, as well as the ‘Trailblazer Award at the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2018”

HELEN MORROW

Team Leader + Senior Designer | B. Science (Interior Design)

With both international and local corporate and hospitality experience, Helen is a highly experienced interior designer with excellent conceptual skills able to interpret client briefs and create unique and specialised user responsive spaces integrating interiors and architectural considerations. With lead design experience on large scale commercial projects, Helen’s proficiencies include organisational and collaborative leadership skills, as well as, comprehensive technical skills in design development, construction documentation, regulatory / services coordination and construction implementation. 

Leading the team at Meli Studio, Helen’s passion for designing interior spaces that combine classic style and timelessness will be balanced with mentorship, team management and client relationship responsibilities.

CAROLINE CHARLTON

Interior Designer | Dip. of Interior Design

A practical designer and conceptual thinker, Caroline is motivated by the possibility to improve people’s wellbeing through design. With experience from the hospitality, retail and public space sectors, she’s taken part in delivering small to large scale projects and liaising with a multitude of stakeholders and contractors. She believes in continual learning and development, that there is always room to grow.
